asked the Minister for Finance the number of tourists who visited the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary during 1982; and the amount of revenue received from the visiting fees charged during this period.

asked the Minister for Finance the visiting hours that have been defined by his Department for the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary, for 1984; the number of staff that will be employed in 1984; and the number of staff who were on duty during Easter weekend, 1984 there.

The visiting hours for the Rock of Cashel during 1984 are as follows:

January - February and

10.30 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.

Tuesday to Saturday

October - December

2.00 p.m. - 4.30 p.m.

2.00 p.m. - 4.30 p.m.

Sunday

March - May

10.30 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

Monday to Saturday

2.00 p.m. - 5.00 p.m.

Sunday

June - September

9.00 a.m. - 7.30 p.m.

daily

Visiting outside these hours is permissible provided there is prior notification.

There is one permanent guide/ information officer and one general operative employed at the Rock of Cashel. During the period March to May and for the month of October an additional temporary guide is in attendance. A further five temporary guides will be employed for the June to September period.

During Easter weekend a staff of two guides were on duty at the Rock of Cashel.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of staff who were employed at the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary, during 1983; and the total cost of employing them.

The number of persons employed at the rock of Cashel during 1983 was as follows:

January - March, 2; April - May, 3; June - September, 8; October, 3; November - December, 2. The total cost of employing these staff was £19,359.13.
