The numbers of new vehicles registered as private cars for the first time in 1981, 1982 and 1983 were 104,645, 73,330 and 61,094 respectively. The following table gives a classification of these vehicles by rated horsepower. The percentage distribution in the table shows the relative variations in each size class for the years in question.
