Vol. 350 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Galway Lands.

608.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a holding (details supplied) in County Galway will be divided; if he is aware that all the shareholders are agreeable to division; and if a grant will be made available for division, fencing access road etc.

The Land Commission consented to the subdivision of the holding in question on 20 June 1983. As the holding is not a commonage, it does not fall within the scheme of commonage division operated under regulation No. 1820-80 of the EEC and consequently aid for fencing, land improvement and access road is not available.

609.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a commonage (details supplied) in County Galway will be divided.

I understand that agreement has been reached in principle to the partitioning of this commonage and the Land Commission inspectorate are currently assisting the shareholders in arranging the divisions on the ground. When these divisions have been agreed the Land Commission will proceed with the formal partitioning order.
