Vol. 351 No. 2

Written Answers. - Dublin Engineering Company.

527.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism if he is aware of the very serious situation existing at an engineering company (details supplied) in Dublin 5 where notwithstanding the substantial increased investment in the animal by-product industry the workforce has been reduced from 14 men to three; and whether because of the fact that this is the only firm in Ireland producing cookers and equipment for the particular industry he will have the matter examined sympathetically with a view to ascertaining the reason this firm's equipment is being bypassed.

I understand from the Industrial Development Authority that this company has not contacted them concerning its current difficulties. The IDA will, however, now get in touch with the firm to see if they can be of assistance in any way.
