The approval in this case related to the provision of a bathroom. A grant cannot be allowed, however, because the roof as constructed did not comply with the standard specification for such works.
The delay in finally confirming the position with the applicant was due to the arrangement of a further special inspection to establish whether there was any possibility that a grant could be paid. The outcome of this inspection, however, is that reroofing would be necessary and accordingly the existing application has to be refused.

An application has, however, been received from a person of the same name but with a different address and a grant will be paid in that case when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and complies with all other conditions of the grant scheme. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
