Vol. 351 No. 2

Written Answers. - Level Crossing Warning System.

540.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allocate funds for the provision of a warning system at Barrymore level crossing and Glanduff level crossing (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

The provision of a warning system at these location is in the first instance a matter for CIE. As the level crossings are located on county roads any contribution which Roscommon County Council may be legally required to make towards the cost of providing warning systems at these crossings would fall to be financed from the council's own resources supplemented by the block grant which is provided annually by my Department.
