asked the Minister for Justice the number of people who have been charged with house-breaking offences in Dublin over the past year; and how this figure compares with similar figures over the past three years.

, Limerick East: I am informed by the Garda authorities that separate statistics are not maintained in respect of offences of burglary of houses. However, the numbers of persons charged with burglary and aggravated burglary offences in the Dublin Metropolitan Area, involving all types of premises, were as follows: 1980 — 6,166; 1981 — 5,959; 1982 — 6,817; 1983 — 7,334.
