Vol. 352 No. 5

Written Answers. - Vaccine Compensation.

172.

asked the Minister for Health if he will examine the position of parents of brain damaged children from the three in one whooping cough vaccine; and if he will recommend an increased offer of compensation to them.

I have thoroughly examined the position of the persons examined by the expert medical group on whooping cough vaccination and I consider that any further examination of their position is unnecessary.

I do not propose to recommend to the Government that it should increase the offer of an ex-gratia payment of £10,000 in respect of the persons considered by the expert group to be, on the balance of probability, damaged by the vaccination.
