Vol. 353 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tax-Free Allowance.

588.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax-free allowance will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, according to their records, the taxpayer ceased employment on 16 March 1984, and has not been re-employed since then. If the taxpayer has, in fact, recommenced employment, his present employer should advise the inspector of taxes so that the question of issuing a tax-free allowance certificate can be pursued. If, on the other hand, the taxpayer is still unemployed a tax-free allowance certificate is not necessary.
