Vol. 353 No. 6

Written Answers. - Traffic Accident Victims.

593.

asked the Minister for Health when it is proposed to introduce new legislation dealing with the payment of maintenance and treatment following road accident traffic cases; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The general scheme of a Bill to amend the Health Act, 1970 has been drawn up and approved by Government. It provides authority to enable charges to be made for services provided for road traffic accident victims. The drafting of the proposed Bill is now in hand. I shall introduce it as soon as possible, but I am not yet in a position to give a specific date for its introduction.
