In May 1983, Roinn na Gaeltachta advised Donegal County Council of the sanction of a grant in respect of the cost of providing a winch at Inishboffin Island, the work to be carried out by the county council. In October 1984, the Commissioners of Public Works, because of their experience in such matters, were asked by the county council to arrange for the work. The commissioners will forward a report in the matter to Roinn na Gaeltachta as soon as possible.
