I assume the Deputy is referring to the inner city industrial award scheme which I announced in July 1983.
This scheme became operative in 1984 but, despite extensive efforts by the Industrial Development Authority to encourage and assist local interests to avail of the scheme, only five applications for the 1984 award were received. These applications are now being examined by the IDA which will decide shortly whether any of the applications has met the necessary criteria to merit an award.
