Since the cessation in July 1984 of manufacture in the factory in question the IDA has had discussions with a number of interested parties about a possible takeover of the business or the establishment of an alternative industry in the premises. So far, no firm proposals for a new project have emerged but the IDA is continuing its efforts in this regard.
The IDA also has three 3,300 sq. ft. units in the town, together with a four acre site, and these are being vigorously promoted for suitable industrial projects.
