Vol. 354 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cashel (Tipperary) School.

475.

asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made regarding the provision of second level educational facilities in Cashel, County Tipperary; if her Department will decide that a community school should be built there to cater for all the second level educational needs of the pupils of the area; and the reason for the delay at arriving at this decision.

My Department has indicated to the post primary school managements in Cashel that it favours development of post primary education facilities in the town on the basis of a single school. All the school authorities in Cashel, however, are not in favour of the suggestion to have a unitary school. I have the situation under consideration at present and hope to be able to make a decision on the matter shortly.
