Vol. 354 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cashel (Tipperary) Road Conditions.

587.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction and recommend the provision of a roundabout at the entrance to the town of Cashel on the Cork side, opposite the two major housing estates, as there have been several accidents at this point and there is serious public concern about the possibility of future fatalities there; and if he will make a statement on the matter, outlining the steps which will be taken to avert the occurrence of similar tragedies.

At present the road conditions at this location are being examined by the local authority from a road safety aspect. On receipt of a report from the local authority in the matter, the position will be considered by my Department with the minimum delay.
