Vol. 354 No. 7

Written Answers. - Extension of Service.

703.

asked the Minister for Communications if he will grant an extension of at least one year's service to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry who is due to retire from her position in the observatory in Caherciveen in January 1985 bearing in mind the hardship which retirement at this stage would have on her widowed daughter and family; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The pension entitlements of the person in question place her above the limit applicable in cases where retention beyond the normal retirement age on hardship grounds is sought and consequently she does not qualify for an extension of service.
