This grant was paid on 22 November 1984.

591.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for immediate payment of a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

This grant will be paid as soon as possible.

592.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid a £1,000 grant and approved for a £3,000 mortgage subsidy.

A recent inspection revealed that this house, which is at an advanced stage of construction, is not being built in accordance with the plans submitted. The person named has, accordingly, been asked to inform my Department when it is complete so that an examination of the house as built can be carried out to determine if it meets all the conditions of the grant scheme. Approval to a mortgage subsidy cannot issue until the grant question is resolved.

593.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid a house improvement grant.

An inspection will be carried out as soon as possible with a view to payment of the balance of the grants approved, if in order.

594.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This application for a new house grant was rejected because the floor area of the house exceeds the maximum allowable for grant purposes which is 125 square metres (1,346 sq. ft). The applicant was advised accordingly on 19 January 1984.
