Vol. 354 No. 11

Written Answers. - County Dublin Roads.

595.

asked the Minister for the Environment the action his Department is taking to deal with the increased volume of traffic on the narrow rural roads in south County Dublin, particularly in the Rathfarnham, Stepaside and Kilternan areas.

It is for Dublin County Council, as road authority, to develop proposals to provide an adequate network of roads in this area. In so far as assistance to the Council by my Department is concerned I would refer the Deputy to the increased level of road grant payments to the Council, as follows:

Year

Total Payments

£m.

1982

11.4

1983

15.1

1984

18.9

(to 30 Nov.)
