Because of a notification from the Commission of the European Communities regarding the criteria for eligibility under the current rules of the social fund it was necessary to revise the applications towards the end of 1984. A further sum of £2,401,461 has yet to be distributed pending consideration of the revised claim by the Committee of the European Social Fund.
