The average cost of official transport per member of the Government in 1984 was £78,000. The refunding of transport costs of Minister of State (Mr. Hegarty) was £40,551 and of Minister of State (Mr. Connaughton) was £39,316.
These figures do not include (1) the cost of air transport provided by the Air Corps and met from the Defence Vote; these costs are not available on an individual basis; or (2) air fares refunded by the EC Commission.
