Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

561.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the present position with regard to the payment of a calf subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named will be paid as soon as the batch which includes his payment is processed.

562.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a grant for a milking machine was approved for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; when the certificates were sent to Dublin from Mallow; when they reached Dublin; and the reason for the delay in paying this person.

The delay in payment of a grant under the farm modernisation scheme in this case was due to the non-receipt in headquarters of the payment certificate which was forwarded from the Mallow Farm Development Service Office on 31 October 1984. A duplicate certificate was received on 21 December 1984 and the grant was paid on 9 January 1985.

563.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a 1984 headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

The person named has been paid already.

564.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when 1983 and 1984 livestock grants under the beef-cow and calf premium schemes will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

The applications for grants under the cattle headage scheme in the disadvantaged areas and EC suckler cow premium schemes received from the person named in respect of the years 1982, 1983 and 1984 cannot be considered further until he complies with requests to submit statements from the Revenue Commissioners showing his own and his spouse's income from the income tax years ended 5 April in each of the years in question. Eligibility under these schemes will be determined when he does so but in the meantime, some 1983 calf premium payments are being withheld pending receipt of the necessary statements.
