Limerick East): As I have indicated in reply to previous questions and as the National Plan makes clear, recruitment to the Garda Síochána is to continue during the period 1985 to 1987 with a view to maintaining the strength of the force at 11,400. Recruitment from the last competition is still continuing and, accordingly, the question of advertising the next competition does not arise at present. When a date for the next competition is arranged, details will be advertised in the normal way.
