Vol. 355 No. 1

Written Answers. - Clogherhead (Louth) Harbour.

342.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if, in view of the fact that the report from University College Cork on the hydraulic model investigation has been with his Department for quite some time, and that the report has already been considered by the Office of Public Works and the Louth County Council and recommendations forwarded to his Department, he will commence work immediately on the development of Clogherhead Harbour, County Louth.

At a meeting in July 1984 between officials of my Department, the Office of Public Works, Louth County Council and their consulting engineers, proposals for the development of Clogherhead submitted by the council's consultants on the basis of the model survey were discussed and a further report was sought from the consultants. This report was received in late November last and is still being examined in my Department. When this examination is completed a further meeting of the parties will be held with a view to settling a final plan. Pending the outcome of that meeting I cannot say when work is likely to commence.
