Vol. 355 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

401.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary as the work has been completed for a considerable time; when payment will be made; and the amount that will be paid.

A house improvement grant of £600 in respect of the provision of bathroom facilities was approved in this case in February 1982. No communication has since been received from the applicant but an inspection is now being arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.

402.

asked the Minister for the Environment when approval for a house improvement grant application will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, ten years have not elapsed since a previous grant was paid in respect of the relevant house.

403.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will pay a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named. However, there is an application from a person with a different Christian name, but with the same surname and from a broadly similar address. The position in this case is that a grant cannot be allowed because contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme the works were commenced before an inspection of the House was carried out. This applicant has been so informed.
