asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a statement with regard to the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the reason for the delay in payment.

There has been no delay in my Department in dealing with this case.

This applicant has been requested on a number of occasions to submit further documentation to complete his application for a new house grant. When this is received, the file will be referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to determining the applicant's eligibility for the grant.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. The file has been referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to determining this persons eligibility for the new house grant.
