Vol. 355 No. 10

Written Answers. - Dublin Resource Centre.

468.

asked the Minister for the Environment in relation to a grant made to the Dublin city VEC from the Government's inner city fund to provide finance for a literacy project as detailed in a letter from him dated 22 June 1984 (details supplied) if he will give a breakdown of: (1) the £15,000 allocated for a resource centre, materials and equipment; if this money has been fully utilised in the resource centre; and if he will specify how it was spent; and (2) if he will specify how the £10,000 allocated for research, was spent.

I have been informed by the City of Dublin VEC that the £15,000 allocated for materials and equipment at the resource centre was used to provide items such as books, office supplies, a litho press printing machine, cassette recorders, camera and video equipment, filing cabinets and room furniture. Expenditure on the research project included salaries of a research officer and two field workers; research contracted to the Higher Education Department, Trinity College; assessment project by the Education Research Centre, Drumcondra; and printing of two reports.
