asked the Minister for Communications if he will supply details with costings of expenditure in the public capital programme by his Department and State bodies for which he is responsible in the Dáil constituencies of Cork North Central and Cork South Central between November 1982 and January 1985; and if he will give similar details of such projects which are planned or are in the pipeline.

In the period November 1982-January 1985, the following expenditure under the public capital programme was undertaken by the Department of Communications or by State bodies operating under the aegis of the Department:

In the case of CIE it is not possible to provide the information on the basis sought by the Deputy. In the three year period from January 1982 to December 1984 CIE invested £9.156 million capital in the Cork area, mainly on new buses introduced into the Cork city bus fleet.

Details of expenditure on telecommunications development cannot be provided as records are not maintained in a form which would enable the information sought by the Deputy to be extracted.
