asked the Minister for Finance if he will supply details with costings of expenditure in the public capital programme by his Department and State bodies for which he is responsible in the Dáil constituencies of Cork North Central and Cork South Central between November 1982, and January 1985; and if he will give similar details of such projects which are planned or are being considered.
Written Answers. - Public Capital Programme.
Capital expenditure in the Public Capital Programme by my Department and State bodies under the aegis of my Department relates to the special border areas programme fund, the western development fund, Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC), Industrial Credit Company (ICC), Fóir Teoranta and Office of Public Works (OPW) purchase of sites and buildings, new works and arterial drainage schemes.
The special border areas programme fund relates to constituencies in the border counties and as such does not affect the Dáil constituencies of Cork North Central and Cork South Central. The area covered by the western development fund overlaps to a very slight extent with the Cork South Central Dáil constituency. Expenditure from the fund in that area over the period in question amounted to approximately £500. As regards ACC and ICC loan advances and Fóir Teoranta rescue finance, information on loans given is not available in the format requested by the Deputy. However, ICC last year introduced the Cork small enterprise scheme to provide loan/equity facilities for the establishment of new small businesses in the Cork area. Expenditure on this scheme up to end-1984 amounted to some £30,000. OPW PCP expenditures affecting the two Cork Dáil constituencies in question are set out in the following tabular statement:
