Vol. 355 No. 10

Written Answers. - Income Tax Refunds.

499.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will instruct the Revenue Commissioners to make a tax refund to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who is unemployed for the last 13 weeks.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's claim for repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment has now been dealt with and a cheque in settlement should reach him shortly.

500.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange for an early payment of a refund of income tax to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has not yet received from the taxpayer a formal claim for repayment of tax. In the circumstances the inspector has written to the taxpayer enclosing a claim form for completion. On return of this form, duly completed, together with Parts 2 and 3 of the relevant form P.45 (cessation certificate), the taxpayer's claim will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
