There are no vacancies for solicitors in the Dublin District Courts section or in any other section of the Chief State Solicitor's Office.

asked the Taoiseach if, as a result of the embargo on the recruitment of solicitors to the Chief State Solicitor's Office, cases are being given to private practitioners; if so, the cost of this for 1982, 1983 and 1984 respectively; and if he is aware of dissatisfaction among gardaí with the present situation because of the lack of continuity in the service as a result of engaging different lawyers to prosecute a single case.
Solicitors in private practice are not engaged by the Chief State Solicitor's Office. No complaint has been received by the Chief Solicitor's Office from the Garda Commissioner about the matter referred to by the Deputy.
