I understand that since the closure recently of this factory Shannon Development, which has responsibility for the promotion of small industry in the mid-west region, including Kilkee, has had discussions with a number of interested parties about a take-over of the assets of the business with a view to the resumption of manufacturing operations there. No concrete proposal for a new project has so far emerged but efforts by SFADCo., in conjunction with the Clare County Development Team, to attract a new industry are continuing.
