Vol. 356 No. 7

Written Answers. - Sex Stereotyping in Schools.

643.

asked the Minister for Education if she will consider abolishing courses in home economics, metalwork, and woodwork as a means of reducing sex stereotyping in schools at the secondary and leaving certificate levels.

The answer is no. On the contrary the policy of reducing sex stereotyping involves making such subjects available, as far as possible, to both boys and girls.
