Vol. 356 No. 7

Written Answers. - Shandon (Cork) Craft Centre.

481.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism the number of units occupied at the IDA Shandon Craft Centre in Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that four units totalling 2,400 sq. ft. are now occupied at the Shandon Craft Centre. There are ten people employed at present in the centre in basketmaking, weaving, crystal glass production and leather crafts. The remaining 13 units, which range in size from 400 to 1,000 sq. ft. and total 6,534 sq. ft., are being actively promoted by the IDA for suitable crafts projects.
