The numbers of new house grants paid to applicants in County Meath for the years 1982, 1983 and 1984 were 424, 411 and 331 respectively. Mortgage subsidy of up to £3,000 is paid in five annual instalments and the information requested in relation to the number of subsidy payments made on a county basis is not readily available in my Department. It would not be possible to extract the required information without seriously affecting the processing of day to day work.
