Vol. 356 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

523.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in regard to an application for a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

This application for a new house grant was refused in October 1984 because the floor area of the house is in excess of the maximum allowable for grant purposes i.e. 125 sq. metres (1,346 sq. ft.). The house was measured on site by my Department's inspector who reported that the floor area is 1,470 sq. ft.

524.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This grant has been paid.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

526.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This applicant has been asked to notify my Department when certain outstanding works have been carried out. When the notification is received, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.

527.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in regard to an application for a home improvement grant made by a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

A house improvement grant of £600 has been approved in this case in respect of necessary works to the fabric of the house. Grants could not, however, be approved under any other category of works because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the particular works had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed on 7 March 1985.
