Vol. 356 No. 11

Written Answers. - Cabra (Dublin) School for Handicapped.

544.

asked the Minister for Education the reasons for the extraordinary delays in beginning work on the construction of a new unit for multiple-handicapped girls at the Dominican Convent, Cabra, Dublin 7; and the date she now expects work to commence.

Tenders for the building of the proposed school at the Dominican Convent, Cabra, Dublin 7 for hearing-impaired children with additional handicaps are at present being examined by the Commissioners of Public Works.

While it is not possible at this stage to state when building work will commence, it is understood that the Commissioners will be in a position in the near future to make a recommendation in the matter. The question of placing a contract for the project will then be considered. No unnecessary delays have occurred in the handling of this project.
