Vol. 357 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

503.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons a mortgage subsidy of £3,000 has not been paid in full to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

It is a condition of the mortgage subsidy scheme that instalments cannot exceed the amount of the loan repayments made in a relevant qualifying period. The person named has received five instalments based on the actual loan repayments made on his mortgage. He was not entitled under the terms of the scheme to the maximum subsidy on the first four instalments because his repayments were less than those necessary to qualify for that maximum. The final instalment of the subsidy will be paid when a claim form, duly certified, is received.

504.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange an early inspection with a view to payment of a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where all works are completed and his Department notified.

An inspection with a view to payment of a grant will be carried out in this case as soon as possible.

505.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding a new house grant application made by a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a house improvement grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

My Department's inspector called early in January 1985 to inspect this house but was unable to certify payment because it was unoccupied. The applicant was subsequently asked to notify my Department when the house was occupied on a full time basis. On receipt of this notification a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order.
