Vol. 357 No. 1

Written Answers. - Wexford Drainage Scheme.

510.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the preliminary report on Wexford town main drainage will be sanctioned; whether it is included in the sanitary services allocation of this year's public capital programme; and if he is aware of the urgency of this drainage scheme for Wexford town and its environs.

My approval in principle to the proposals for the Wexford main drainage scheme issued on 7 November 1984 subject to the submission of a report on a number of technical aspects of the scheme which required clarification. That report which was received on 20 February 1985 is being examined in my Department with a view to the early approval of the preparation of contract documents. The question of making capital available for this scheme will not arise until the contract documents have been prepared by the local authority and submitted for my approval.
