Carbon monoxide levels are not monitored in this country. The results from the stations monitoring sulphur dioxide in Cork city and county are set out in the following tables which give the number of valid daily means from which the median value (middle ranking value) is derived. The median is preferred to the average value in air pollution analysis. The gaps in the Cork County Council results are due to analytical problems in measuring low sulphur concentration.
