Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - FCA Training Course.

541.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will agree to restore the two weeks' training course for FCA members, known as the summer camp, which is essential if the level of training is to be kept up to the required standard.

I regret that it is not possible at present to restore the two weeks' annual training for FCA personnel. The reduction in the period to seven days continues to be necessary as part of the Government's programme for achieving reductions in the level of public expenditure. I am, however, satisfied that an acceptable standard of training is being maintained.
