Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - Allocation of Funds.

642.

asked the Minister for Education the payments which were made from the public funds for: (1) secondary education; (2) comprehensive education; (3) community education; (4) vocational education; and (5) community college education during the financial years ended 31 December 1982, 31 December 1983 and 31 December 1984.

The amounts paid from public funds in any financial year under the different subheads listed in the Estimates for the Public Services are set out in the Appropriation Accounts for that year. The Appropriation Accounts for 1982 and 1983 have been published and those for 1984 are in course of preparation. The detailed information in the form requested by the Deputy is not readily available in my Department however, as certain subheads cover more than one of the categories listed in the question. The provision of the information in the form requested would take an inordinate amount of official time the cost of which would not be justified.
