asked the Minister for Education the number of teachers receiving incremental salaries in: (1) secondary schools; (2) comprehensive schools; (3) community schools; (4) vocational schools; and (5) community colleges during the academic years 1982-83 and 1983-84; and if she will include the estimated full time equivalent of part time teachers.

The number of teachers in secondary, community and comprehensive schools who were in receipt of incremental salary in the years in question was:

Part time teachers in these schools are not paid directly by the Department but by their respective managerial authorities. The teaching staff allocations, expressed in whole time equivalent units authorised in respect of full time day courses conducted in second level vocational schools and colleges in 1982-83 and 1982-84 were 5,196 and 5,021, respectively.

asked the Minister for Education the number of students who entered second level education in: (1) secondary schools; (2) comprehensive schools; (3) community schools; (4) vocational schools; and (5) community colleges during the academic years 1982-83 and 1983-84.
