Vol. 357 No. 12

Written Answers. - Bovine TB Elimination.

619.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he considers, in the context of the drive to eliminate bovine TB, that it is vital to remove reactors from the herd as soon as possible after identification; and if he will therefore amend his present proposals which decree that a reactor must be removed within ten days after notification in favour of measures empowering vets to issue notification on the day of identification to facilitate the speedy removal of diseased animals from the herd.

The issue of movement permits on the day of identification of reactors has already been agreed in principle and will be implemented as quickly as possible.
