Written Answers. - Social Employment Scheme.

636.

asked the Minister for Labour if he is aware that Dublin Corporation are not availing of the social employment scheme; the reason this is the case; and the steps he is taking to overcome the difficulties involved.

For a number of reasons, Dublin Corporation have been unable to avail of the social employment scheme to date.

Discussions are taking place between officials of my Department, the National Manpower Service, Dublin Corporation and the unions involved with a view to overcoming obstacles and allowing the corporation to participate in the scheme.
