Vol. 358 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Wexford School.

755.

asked the Minister for Education when proposed remedial works to Tombrack national school, County Wexford, will be carried out; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A report recently received in my Department from the Commissioners of Public Works concerning Tombrack national school, County Wexford, indicates that costly improvements to the school are required. This is a two-teacher school and my Department as long ago as 1980 informed the school authorities that it is not their policy to approve extensive grants for works of improvement to such schools.

My Department are in correspondence with the chairman of the school's board of management regarding the possibility of amalgamation of this school into the new central school at Ferns.
