Vol. 358 No. 5

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefit.

553.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid her widow's pension.

The person concerned whose husband died on 24 March 1985 claimed a widow's pension on 12 April 1985.

A social welfare officer has been asked to investigate and report on her financial circumstances. When this report is received a decision will be given without delay and she will be notified of the outcome.

Her late husband had been in receipt of old age non-contributory pension of £59.05 a week which included an increase in respect of his wife and payment of this pension was continued to her for six weeks after his death. Her late husband was also employed in Great Britain and her entitlement to a widow's contributory pension under EC regulations, based on her husband's combined Irish and British insurance, is being examined.
