Vol. 358 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Error.

601.

asked the Minister for Finance when he will correct a tax error for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that, on the basis of details recently supplied to the inspector of taxes, an amended certificate of tax free allowances for the current year, 1985-86, will be issued to the taxpayer as soon as possible. When the amended certificate is operated by the employer, the tax overdeducted from the taxpayer's earnings since 6 April 1985, will be refunded to him. A review of the taxpayer's liability for 1984-85 has also been carried out and an overpayment of tax has arisen for that year. A cheque in settlement will be issued to the taxpayer as soon as possible.
