Vol. 358 No. 5

Written Answers. - Boyne Catchment Drainage Schemes.

602.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Board of Works will complete work on the drains which include the land of a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is assumed that the Deputy is referring to applications by a number of landowners in the townland in question to have channels in the area included in the Boyne catchment drainage scheme. The extension of the scheme to include these channels was investigated by the Commissioners of Public Works and found to be uneconomic. Accordingly, the commissioners could not agree to the suggested extension of the scheme.
