asked the Minister for Finance the present position with regard to the proposed extension to Scoil Mhuire, Tullamore, County Offaly; and if preparation of the sketch scheme has commenced yet.

The planning of the proposed extension to Scoil Mhuire, Tullamore, County Offaly, is in the hands of an architect in private practice who has been engaged by the manager of the school. A number of feasibility studies have been submitted by the manager's architect and these have been examined by the Office of Public Works who have made a report to the Department of Education. The Department's decision on which scheme should be adopted is awaited before the manager's architect can be authorised to prepare sketch plans.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position in regard to the proposed extension to Ferbane boys' national school, Ferbane, County Offaly; and if the sketch plans have been prepared yet.

In September 1984 the Office of Public Works reported to the Department of Education on the feasibility of providing a general purposes room and improved classroom facilities at Ferbane boys' national school, County Offaly on the basis of the Department's requirements. In January 1985 the Department of Education approved the proposals and authorised the Office of Public Works to prepare sketch plans. Because of the large number of projects at the planning stage it will not be possible to commence the preparation of the sketch plans for some months.

asked the Minister for Finance when tenders will be invited for the work on Killeigh national school, Killeigh, County Offaly.

The preparation of contract documents for the proposed new national school at Killeigh, County Offaly is well advanced and it is expected that tenders can be invited by the end of next month subject to the approval of the Department of Education.
