Vol. 358 No. 5

Written Answers. - Use of Schools.

735.

asked the Minister for Education if she will indicate her attitude to the utilisation of primary schools for commerical purposes such as the sales of various products to pupils which could put a financial strain on their parents.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 411 on 24 January 1984. In a circular issued to schools in May 1984 I requested school authorities to consider carefully the implications of allowing any situation to develop which would result in parents being put under pressure which would be prejudicial to the interest of the pupils.
